A few pictures of where we lived most of the time we were here:

The President of Ghana, John Mills

The president died during the first day of our visit to Ghana.

His funeral will be this week, August 8-10.
In Ghana people wear black and red for funerals and mourning.
Flags are at half mast and all the buildings will be displaying the red and black colors.
Even many of the cars now have red material attached to them.

Shopping in Ghana
Although there are some modern western-world type stores, much of shopping is done in little shops or stands along side the road, or even from hawkers as you drive.  You can literally buy ANYTHING from fresh fruits and veggies to coffins.
Here are some pictures of shops and roadside stalls:

This little video was taken as we were driving down a road past many little shops....

Boat Ride on the Volta River
We took a boat ride a few days ago in the Volta Region.  The boat takes its passengers up to see the dam on the river.  This dam provides much of the electricity for Ghana and some neighboring countries.  The Ghanians are very proud of it.

This is one of my favorite pictures!
